Common Cold and Cough:
The common cold is usually a mild illness, and most people recover within a week to ten days.

Causes
• The common cold is majorly caused by rhinoviruses and the other viruses, such as coronaviruses and adenoviruses.
• These viruses are highly contagious and can be transmitted from person to person through respiratory droplets when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks.
• You can also catch a cold by touching contaminated surfaces and then touching your face.

Symptoms
• Runny or stuffy nose, Sneezing
• Sore throat, Coughing, Watery eyes, Fatigue
• Mild headache, Low-grade fever (although fever is less common in adults with colds)

REMEDY 1
Honey and Lemon Tea
• Honey and lemon tea is a soothing beverage made by combining hot water with honey and freshly squeezed lemon juice, often used to relieve sore throats and provide comfort during colds.

Ingredients
• 1 cup hot water,2 tablespoons honey
• 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice

Instructions
• Mix honey and lemon juice into the hot water.
• Sip this soothing tea to help relieve a sore throat and provide warmth and hydration.

Guidelines
• This is only for adults.
• Do not give honey to children under one year of age, Drink this twice a day

REMEDY 2
• Chicken soup for the common cold is a comforting broth-based remedy containing chicken, vegetables, and spices, believed to provide relief from cold symptoms and promote hydration and warmth.

Ingredients
• Chicken broth, Chicken pieces (optional)
• Chopped onions, carrots, celery (optional)
• Garlic and ginger (optional)
• Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
• Simmer the ingredients in chicken broth until the vegetables are soft and the chicken is cooked (if using).Serve hot.

Guidelines
• Chicken soup can help soothe a sore throat and provide hydration.
• It may also reduce congestion. You can have this twice a day.

REMEDY 3
• Steam inhalation for the common cold is a method involving inhaling the vapours of hot water to alleviate nasal congestion and facilitate easier breathing.

Ingredients
• Boiling water, A bowl, Towel

Instructions
• Pour boiling water into a bowl, Lean over the bowl and cover your head with a towel.
• Inhale the steam for 5-10 minutes to relieve nasal congestion.

Guidelines
• Be cautious with hot water to avoid burns.
• This method can help clear nasal passages and ease breathing. This can be done twice a day.
