About

Allergies are immune system reactions to substances that are usually harmless, resulting in various symptoms such as sneezing, itching, and congestion.

Causes
• Genetics, Environmental allergens, Food allergies, Medications
• Insect allergies, Latex, Contact allergens, Airborne allergens
• Occupational allergens, Exercise-induced allergies, Viral infections

Symptoms
• Sneezing, Runny or stuffy nose, Itchy or watery eyes, Skin rash or hives
• Swelling of the face, lips, or tongue, Coughing, Wheezing
• Shortness of breath, Upset stomach or diarrhea, Fatigue

REMEDY 1
Honey and Cinnamon Mixture
• Daily consumption may help build tolerance to allergens over time due to the potential pollen content in local honey.

Ingredients
• 1 tablespoon of raw, local honey, 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

Instructions
• Mix the raw honey and ground cinnamon together until well blended.

Guidelines
• This remedy may take time to show effects, so consistency is key.

REMEDY 2
Saline Nasal Rinse
• Clears allergies and mucus from nasal passages, providing relief from congestion and allergy symptoms.

Ingredients
• 1 cup of warm distilled water, 1/2 teaspoon of non-iodized salt, 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda

Instructions
• Dissolve the non-iodized salt and baking soda in warm distilled water.
• Pour the mixture into a clean nasal spray bottle or use a neti pot. Tilt your head over a sink at a 45-degree angle.
• Insert the nozzle of the nasal spray bottle into one nostril.
• Gently squeeze the bottle to allow the solution to flow through your nasal passages and out of the other nostril.

Guidelines
• Use distilled or boiled (and then cooled) water to avoid introducing harmful bacteria.
