Stomach Ache
About
A stomach ache is a sensation of discomfort or pain in the abdominal area, often caused by various digestive issues or underlying medical conditions.
Causes
• Gastroenteritis, Indigestion, Gastritis, Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease.
• Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Constipation, Gallstones, Appendicitis (inflammation of the appendix), Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).
• Ovarian Issues (in females).
Symptoms
• Diarrhea/diarrhoea, Vomiting, Nausea, Heartburn, Constipation.
• Bloating, Abdominal cramps, Sharp or stabbing pain, Fever.
REMEDY 1
Ginger Tea
• Ginger tea can provide relief from stomach pain due to its anti-inflammatory properties.
Ingredients
• Fresh ginger root (1-2 inches), Water (1 cup), Honey (optional).
Instructions
• Bring a cup of water to a boil.
• Add the ginger slices to the boiling water.
• Simmer for 5-10 minutes. Strain the tea into a cup.
• Optionally, add honey for sweetness. Sip the ginger tea slowly.
Guidelines
• Drink this tea 2-3 times a day as needed.
• Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties that can help soothe stomach discomfort.
REMEDY 2
Peppermint Tea
• Peppermint tea can help alleviate stomach pain by relaxing gastrointestinal muscles and reducing spasms.
Ingredients
• Peppermint tea bag or fresh peppermint leaves, Water (1 cup).
• Honey (optional).
Instructions
• Boil a cup of water., Place the peppermint tea bag or fresh peppermint leaves in a cup.
• Pour the boiling water over the peppermint. Cover and steep for 5-10 minutes. Remove the tea bag or strain the leaves.
• Optionally, add honey for flavour.
Guidelines
• Consume this tea up to 3 times a day.
• Peppermint can help relax the muscles of the gastrointestinal tract and reduce spasms.
REMEDY 3
Bland Rice Water
• Bland rice water can soothe stomach pain and discomfort while helping to re-hydrate the body.
Ingredients
• White rice (1/2 cup), Water (4 cups), A pinch of salt (optional).
Instructions
• Boil 4 cups of water in a pot. Add the rice to the boiling water.
• Reduce the heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is cooked. Strain the rice, collecting the water.
• Allow the rice water to cool. Optionally, add a pinch of salt for flavour.
• Sip the rice water slowly.
Guidelines
• Drink small sips of rice water throughout the day.
• Rice water helps soothe the stomach and can be especially beneficial for diarrhea/diarrhoea.
